Top of Rheinfall From Rock
Filed under: Landscapes, Switzerland Pictures — Rhiannon @ 2:45 pm

Is it just me, or is this water coming right at us? This picture really captured what it was like to look out from the top of the rock.

At The Top

Finally at the top of the rock. Looking down at the falls now. The water is so loud, that you have to practically yell to talk to anyone.

Amidst The Mist

This is the second break on the way up the steps. This little outlook was so close to the raging waters that you were in a cloud of mist.

Turbulent Waters
Filed under: Landscapes, Switzerland Pictures — Rhiannon @ 2:32 pm

As we climed the steps to the top of the rock, there were a couple other places to overlook the falls and take a break. Here is a great picture of just how strong this falls is.

Smaller Side of Rheinfall
Filed under: Landscapes, Switzerland Pictures — Rhiannon @ 2:30 pm

After taking the boat over to the Observation Rock, I took a close up picture of the smaller side of the falls. It is not as big, but still beautiful.

Rheinfall Boat

Here are one of the special boats that take you to the falls. They are pretty flat and carry up to 50 people at a time.

Observation Rock

In the middle of the Rheinfall there is a rock that people can go to. You must take a boat and walk up quite a few steps and then you get a great view.

Laufen Castle

This is Laufen Castle or in German Schloss Laufen. It lies high above the Rheinfall overlooking this wonderful sight.

Churning Waters
Filed under: Landscapes, Switzerland Pictures — Rhiannon @ 2:17 pm

This is where the falls hits the bottom, causing the churning and boiling effect.

Waterwheel
Filed under: Landscapes, Switzerland Pictures — Rhiannon @ 2:13 pm

A small part of the river flows over and powers this waterwheel. It is fun to see that these still exist.
