The man who is blindfolded in this picture was our hiking guide. He got to experience what it was like to hike blind for a short stretch on the last day.
This is where we stopped the first day to have lunch. It was a nice spot with a couple picnic tables and a beautiful little pond.
In June 2006, I accompanied a group of blind hikers. It was a three day hike in the mountains of Switzerland. We stayed in mountain chalets, which was very fun and different for me. The leader of the group was Daniel Kish, from California, who is a teacher of echolocation.
This castle has been one of my favorites for a long time. I finally got to visit it in May of 2006. It was even more amazing to be there and really experience it.
This is the entrance to the caslte. It was different than I was expecting, but not in a bad way. It was more regal and majestic than I had imagined.
We walked through the entrance and turned around to look at the backside. It changed color! From red brick to tan brick.
After you walk through the first entrance, there is a small area and then you come to another archway. This picture was taken from that archway and is looking up at the castle and the courtyard below.
